German master director Wim Wender’s film Perfect Days the life of Hirayama, a toilet cleaner of the modern, stylish public toilets of Tokyo. Hirayama seems content with his simple life. He follows a structured everyday routine and dedicates his free time to his passion for music and books and photographing trees. More of his past is gradually revealed through a series of unexpected encounters. Perfect Days is a deeply moving and poetic reflection on finding beauty in the everyday world around us. It’s a movie about the importance of little moments — and a movie that’s full of such little moments, every one of which is a reward.
