Schedule:
- Interdenominational faith service: 10:00 am Kyle Centre
- Parade March: 10:40 am (Parade route - Clarke St, Mary St, St. John’s St, Clarke St)
- Ceremony/Service: following the parade, in front of the Legion on Clarke St (Wreath laying - Cenotaph on Spring St)
This year the Remembrance Day Parade route will muster in front of the Port Moody Legion at 2529 Clarke St. The parade will circle the block moving east to Mary, south to St. Johns, then west on St. Johns to Kyle, then back to the Legion.
St. Johns St. will only be closed during the parade procession, then will be reopened immediately.
Remembrance Day is commemorated on November 11th each year and marks the end of World War I in 1918. It may also be commonly known as Armistice Day.
The intention of the day is to remember the fallen on both sides in the Great War (first world war).
